On September 30, 2018 at the Schönering Experimental Station near Linz/Austria an International Maize Day was held, attended by hundreds of farmers from many countries, including a small group of clients of Leader Consulting EOOD from Bulgaria.
SAATBAU LINZ puts a high priority on maize selection and in recent years has had many successful hybrids on the market throughout Europe, with increasing efforts being directed towards South East Europe. We had the opportunity to tour the super-modern maize seed plant in Geinberg, we were introduced to the company's activities and the main directions, trends and achievements in maize selection. The experimental platform was impressive, we could see already known in Bulgaria maize hybrids, as well as established names in Western Europe, and also many new hybrids, which have yet to be proven in practice, but at first sight convinced with huge potential.
With a tourist attraction train we took a tour of Linz to see in one breath the most important sights of this cozy Danube city, which with its ancient core, many cathedrals and temples, but also modern buildings and neighborhoods and the quiet waters of the Danube with its hilly coast once again fascinated us.
In Geinberg, our colleagues from SAATBAU showed us all the working units and emphasized the basic principles and important details that ensure the quality of the seed and thus a guaranteed good harvest.
In Bulgaria we have already had great success with the maize hybrids selected for our conditions from all maturity groups such as DANUBIO, ILLUSTRADO, KORASANO and now the latest AGROKING.
